About Us
Some might ask why are we doing this or what are we doing differently?
SOF warriors and their families are uniquely special people who live and walk on a path that is best served by those who lived and walked similar paths, with similar experiences. Our staff and founders come directly from the same community.
Below is the Combat Medics' Prayer and every word of this prayer applies to why our staff is uniquely qualified to serve the SOF community. Specifically, the last paragraph applies to our personal needs as well as those we serve. The staff and founders of the Messianic refuge continue the mission.
The Combat Medic Prayer
Oh Lord, I ask for the divine strength to meet the demands of my profession. Help me to be the finest medic, both technically and tactically. If I am called to the battlefield, give me the courage to conserve our fighting forces by providing medical care to all who are in need.
"If I am called to a mission of peace, give me the strength to lead by caring for those who need my assistance. Finally, Lord help me take care of my own spiritual, physical and emotional needs. Teach me to trust in your presence and never-failing love." Amen
MISSION
Our mission is to provide the highest level of professional services to veterans and active duty members of the SOF community. The Refuge will offer a full range of services for those struggling with PTSD and addictions. Other refuge services will include life coach counseling, demobilizing, reintegration with family and employers of veteran citizens.
The Messianic Refuge is faith based organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
VISION
The vision is to create an organization with state-of-the-art facilities where our veterans can comfortably reintegrate from the rigors of the battlefield mindset back into the role of spouse, parent, citizen, and community leader.
The refuge property is approximately 233 acres of wooded and pastureland that is bordering the Cincinnati Museum Centers Edge of Appalachia Nature Preserve. The buildout will include family cabins, RV sites, camping sites, hunting, fishing, hiking/ ATV and horse trails, recreational, administrative, clinical and maintenance facilities.
The adjacent property is the famous Cincinnati Museum Centers Edge of Appalachia Preserve System that manages approximately 20,000 acres of the very same natural wonderland of rolling forested slopes, deep ravines, and flower-studded prairies where natural elements of the Appalachians collide with those from the Midwest. Where prairies meet the southern edge of the great glacial advances of Ohio's past and where nature is found in abundance. Located just 75 miles east of downtown Cincinnati in Adams County, Ohio, this remarkable preserve system is the undisputed crown jewel of biological diversity in Ohio.
